Meet Becky
I’m Dr Becky Ashton (Clinical Psychologist & CFT Therapist) and I believe that when you are feeling lost and stuck, you deserve therapy that is kind, easy-to-access and tailored to you during difficult times.
I know how it feels to be going along in life just fine and then something comes along unexpectedly and stops you in your tracks.
After moving to London from my hometown of Manchester, I had to undergo major surgery which meant that I was not able to be my usual self for a really long time. So I understand first-hand how disempowering it can feel when things don’t go to plan!
Most of my experience as a Psychologist has been working with people who have had to navigate life-altering health conditions for the National Health Service (NHS) in the UK. Alongside this, I set up my private practice a few years ago, where I have enjoyed working remotely with a diverse range of people from across the UK and worldwide.
Although as a Psychologist I’m trained to work with people experiencing a variety of issues, my passion is working with people who are experiencing anxiety, burnout, low mood, health issues, relationship difficulties or stress at work.
My Approach
It’s important to me that when clients are feeling lost and overwhelmed that they feel calm and safe during our sessions.
I’m naturally open, down-to-earth and approachable
I want you to feel able to say the things that are hard to talk about and feel understood
I will always have your best interests at heart and sometimes that means straight-talking to help you to make the changes that you truly deserve
What To Expect
I believe that:
You know yourself best even if it may not feel like it. So I find combining evidence-based therapeutic approaches with your personal insights is the sweet spot when working together.
I draw on Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) approaches to support you to process and understand strong emotions and thoughts, understand yourself better and give you tools to live your life well.
I have put together some clear, easy-to-understand information about what to expect in therapy with me to help you to decide if we could work well together.

our core values underpin everything we do:
We aim to provide a kind, personal and high-quality service. For this reason, we prefer to work with a smaller number of clients to ensure we best meet the needs and wants of each person.
